Law no. 2612/2019 implementing EU Directive 2018/1910 on harmonization and simplification of VAT for cross-border trade was published in the Official Gazette. The law will take effect from 1 January 2020.
Besides the implementation of the Quick Fixes, it also establishes VAT registration procedures and penalties for non-compliance varying from EUR 1,200 to EUR 125,000.
