VAT entered into force in Angola on 1 October 2019. In the September issue of Legal Business, Conceição Gamito (senior adviser) and Ana Raquel Costa (senior associate) wrote an article on the impact of the application of the new tax. According to the lawyers “although Angolan VAT draws on the European VAT model, particularly the Portuguese VAT Code, it has its own specific features and mechanisms, and taxpayers will need to have a solid grasp of such specificities from the get-go.”
