France gets rid of the hybrid Y-Model, replacing it with 5-Corner model

  • Legislative Changes: On 19 September 2024, El Salvador’s Legislative Assembly enacted Decree No. 94 of 2024, introducing new obligations regarding recipient data on invoices.
  • Mandatory Conditions: Recipient information is mandatory when the transaction amount is USD 25,000 or more, when the customer requests an invoice for documentation, or when the invoice is needed for deductible expenses.
  • Required Information: In such cases, suppliers must include the recipient’s name, business name, and identification number, which can include various forms of ID such as Tax ID or passport numbers.
  • Obligations for Legal Entities: For invoices issued to legal entities, the company name must be included regardless of the transaction amount.
  • Penalties for Non-Compliance: Suppliers who fail to provide the required recipient information may face fines of 30% of the transaction amount or a minimum fine of two monthly salaries in the commerce sector, effective from 27 September 2024.
