In a press release on October 15, the DGFiP announced a revision to the scope of the Public Billing Platform (PPF).
Initially designed to serve as a public platform for issuing and receiving invoices accessible to all, its functionality will now be focused on the following key areas:
- Directory Maintenance: Identifying companies using their SIREN/SIRET numbers and ensuring interoperability between companies connected through a PDP.
- Consolidation of Information for Public Administration: Managing data flows (Flow 1) and e-Reporting.
The role of Partner Dematerialization Platforms (PDP) will be strengthened, as all invoice issuing and receiving will now be handled exclusively through these platforms.
This decision is intended to keep the project on track while still allowing for future enhancements to the platform. The DGFiP reaffirmed the official timeline in its announcement.
Furthermore, this adjustment enables companies to voluntarily start the B2B electronic invoicing process in France beginning in 2025, through the use of a PDP. Additional details will be provided once an official announcement is made by the administration.
