Compensation for delayed flights, customs duty, VAT – EU Court to rule in preliminary ruling procedure
The EU General Court, not the Court of Justice of the EU, will rule on preliminary rulings in six areas from 1 October. These include the common VAT system, excise duties, the Customs Code, the tariff classification of goods in the Combined Nomenclature, compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of delays or cancellations of transport services or denied boarding, and the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system.
