ZATCA extends the grace period for fines and penalties related to e-invoicing violations

ZATCA has extended its fines and penalties exemption until the end of 2024. Taxpayers must register, submit unfiled returns, and pay principal tax debts to benefit from this initiative. The initiative applies to all tax laws in the Kingdom, and an instalment payment plan is available within the initiative’s timeframe. However, penalties related to tax evasion and fines paid before the initiative’s start date are excluded from this exemption. Taxpayers can find detailed guidelines on ZATCA’s website for more information on penalty types, conditions for benefitting from the exemption, and steps for instalment payments.
