How VAT e-invoices work in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia introduced e-invoicing through ZATCA in December 2021 to transform VAT-related invoicing processes for businesses. E-invoicing involves generating invoices electronically through specific solutions, and in Saudi Arabia, there are two types: standard e-invoice for B2B and B2G transactions, and simplified e-invoice for B2C transactions. E-invoices must include specific information and be issued in Arabic, with the option to include a second language. Once issued, e-invoices cannot be altered, but adjustments can be made through debit or credit notes linked to the original invoice.
