- The Global Exchange Network Association (GENA) held its General Assembly in Utrecht (NL) on June 6, bringing together leading e-invoicing players. The agenda focused on Globalization, Localization, and Interoperability among e-Invoicing Service Providers. GENA, formerly known as EESPA, now includes members from around the globe and beyond pure e-invoicing service providers, such as major tax and accounting firms and large corporations.
- The scope of document digitization has expanded beyond invoicing. Local chapters from Germany, the Nordics, Italy, and the Middle East provided local insights, while international pilots and initiatives reflected the global range of e-Invoicing. GENA’s “Peppol Incubation project” aims to enhance B2B interoperability among service providers.
- Michael Walther presented updates on the ongoing incubation project, which focuses on transitioning traditional EDI traffic to a globally interoperable network like Peppol.
