Purchasing insurance services on your own behalf, but on the account of subsidiaries, is an activity subject to VAT. In such a situation, the taxpayer does not provide the service, but participates in its provision – ruled the Provincial Administrative Court in Gdańsk. It was a parent company in a group that concluded insurance contracts for itself and its subsidiaries.
