- Saudi Arabia’s Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has approved amendments to the country’s VAT Implementing Regulations.
- Key changes include the requirement for a taxable person to display their VAT registration certificate in a clearly visible manner, and modifications to Article 9 which redefine the conditions under which government body income is not considered an economic activity.
- A new sub-article has been added which provides a legal basis for not applying VAT to insourced labor.
- Changes have also been made to Article 29(7) and Article 34, which now includes a verification requirement and underscores the 75% rule for means of transport predominantly used for international transport.
