Taipei National Taxation Bureau reminds: selling price to consumers should include VAT

According to the Taipei National Taxation Bureau, the selling price of taxable goods or services by businesses to consumers should include the value-added tax (VAT). Some businesses have falsely claimed that the price does not include VAT, misleading consumers into waiving their right to request a unified invoice. Violators may be fined between NT$1,500 and NT$15,000. Businesses are urged to issue unified invoices and consumers are reminded to actively request them to protect their rights. For more information, contact Chief Yang from the Sales Tax Division at 2311-3711 ext. 1760.
