These proposed changes are expected to help Member States collect up to €18 billion more each year in VAT revenues, while simultaneously saving businesses €5 billion annually in compliance costs. Overall, the European Commission hopes that these changes will streamline VAT compliance and increase tax revenue for EU Member States.
