The parties to the agreement have agreed to introduce a new and ambitious CO2 tax. It is a long-term decision that creates predictable framework conditions and allows companies to adapt. At the same time, there is agreement on targeted help for green conversion of the companies that are hardest hit by the CO2 tax. It must minimize the risk of emissions and jobs moving abroad.
The agreement introduces a new CO2 tax at a rate of DKK 750 per tonnes of CO2 emitted in 2030 for companies outside the EU quota trading system and DKK 375 per tonne. tonnes of CO2 emitted in 2030 for companies within. Mineralogical processes etc. receives a fee of DKK 125 per tonnes of CO2 emitted in 2030.
