What is the EU VAT Expert Group?
The VAT Expert Group assists and advises the European Commission on VAT matters. They meet regularly upon invite of the European Commission, last meeting was on November 29, 2021. No meeting has been scheduled yet for 2022.
On October 2, 2019, the Director-General for Taxation and Customs Union appointed the 40 members of the VAT Expert Group for a mandate of 3 years starting on October 1, 2019. This means that the current mandate ends per October 1, 2022 and a call for application is expected soon.
