As a recipient of services with your place of residence, place of business or permanent establishment abroad, have you incurred VAT expenses for your business activities in Switzerland and would like to have them repaid? You can find out more about the so-called «VAT refund» here.
From claim year 2022, i.e. for invoices with an invoice date of 2021, Austrian companies will no longer be able to claim refunds of Swiss VAT in Switzerland for the purchase of fuels. The corresponding list of countries has been updated accordingly.
Switzerland is thus adapting its law to Austria’s new regulation, according to which companies from third countries, i.e. also from Switzerland, are excluded from claiming the refund of VAT when purchasing fuels in Austria for invoices from 2021 onwards
