Egypt Expands E-Receipt Mandate to More Taxpayers in B2C Transactions

  • Expansion of E-Receipt Mandate: Starting January 15, 2025, Egypt is expanding its e-receipt mandate to include a new group of taxpayers, requiring them to issue e-receipts for B2C transactions under Resolution No. 405/2024.
  • Implementation Delays: This expansion follows several delays in the rollout of Egypt’s e-receipt system, which was initially scheduled for full implementation by 2024, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize tax collection.
  • Integration and Real-Time Verification: Taxpayers in the latest group must integrate their point-of-sale devices or ERP systems with a central system for real-time verification of transaction validity, with further details available on the Egyptian Tax Authority’s website using a taxpayer’s registration number.
