- Mandatory NFCom Implementation: The SINIEF Adjustment No. 34/24 has set the mandatory start date for the use of the Electronic Communication Services Invoice (NFCom) by ICMS taxpayers to November 1, 2025, aligning with the global trend towards Continuous Transaction Control (CTC) systems and electronic invoicing to combat tax evasion.
- Simplification of Invoice Processes: The NFCom aims to streamline the complex invoicing processes for communication and telecommunications services by introducing real-time validations and electronic signatures, replacing the current XML file submission system that requires manual uploads to the SEFAZ website.
- Benefits and Testing Timeline: The NFCom will enhance efficiency and reduce compliance costs for companies in the communication and telecommunications sectors, with testing of NFCom transmission to SEFAZ already possible since March 2023. Full production issuance will be available starting June 2023, allowing early adopters to implement the system before the official deadline.
