GENA highlights advocacy, expansion and Peppol cooperation

GENA (Global Exchange Network Association) is advancing its global advocacy and cooperation with Peppol, as discussed in its recent Annual General Assembly in Brussels, where Secretary General Marcus Laube highlighted plans for global expansion and the establishment of local chapters in regions like Germany, Italy, and the Middle East, with new chapters planned in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Enhanced B2B Peppol/GENA Incubation project aims to improve B2B interoperability among service providers and is being developed in collaboration with OpenPeppol, which will formalize its relationship with GENA through a cooperation agreement soon.
Organizational changes within GENA include the appointment of a new COO and the establishment of initiatives like the “GENA Academy” to enhance member engagement, while the Interoperability Working Group will focus on standards development and relevant country-specific developments, fostering a dynamic community within the B2B service provider industry.
