On January 21-22, 2025, a conference will be held in Vienna, Austria, on “Cross-Border VAT/GST Disputes: Exploring Prevention and Resolution Mechanisms”.
The conference is an important milestone in the work conducted by the Vienna Multistakeholder Group on VAT and Disputes over the past few years, aimed at identifying the causes of cross-border VAT/GST disputes and exploring ways to efficiently address this issue. The event will be hosted by the WU Global Tax Policy Center on January 21-22, 2025, at the WU Campus (Vienna), LC building, Cerimonial Hall 2 and will be held as back-to back meeting with the conference “Court of Justice of the European Union: Recent VAT Case Law”.
This conference will provide a platform for senior officials, leading practitioners, and other stakeholders from around the globe to discuss and explore the evolving challenges and opportunities in the realm of VAT/GST, particularly in the context of cross-border disputes.
Participants will gain insights into the changing role of VAT/GST in the digital environment, understand the root causes of cross-border VAT disputes from various perspectives, and explore mechanisms and innovative technologies to prevent and resolve VAT/GST disputes.
