Portugal: Postponement of Qualified Electronic Signature Requirement and Accounting SAF-T Proposed

  • Delay in E-Signature Requirement: The 2025 Draft State Budget proposes postponing the qualified electronic signature requirement for e-invoices to January 1, 2026.
  • Initial Timeline Adjustment: This requirement was initially set to be enforced on January 1, 2025, but has been rescheduled following the Draft Budget law’s publication.
  • SAF-T File Submission Extension: The proposal also extends the deadline for submitting the accounting SAF-T file to 2027 for the financial year of 2026.
