- E-invoicing Implementation in Slovakia: Slovakia introduced e-invoicing through Act No. 215/2019, aligning with Directive 2014/55/EU. Initially required for certain B2G transactions above €5,000 from January 2022, the process involves three phases for public procurement but has faced delays, with full implementation expected by the end of the year.
- Future of B2B E-invoicing: The Slovak Ministry of Finance aims to make e-invoicing mandatory by 2025, having postponed it from 2024. Since 2023, e-invoicing has been optional, with separate reporting for non-resident transactions and potential prior authorisation requirements for tax verification.
- E-invoicing System and Objectives: The secured e-invoicing model, effective since August 2019, mandates electronic invoice issuance and acceptance, supported by the IS EFA platform. It seeks to streamline processes, enhance compliance, and is linked to Slovakia’s e-mail system. The MoF’s initiative also includes a demonstration system for testing.
