Seattle, Washington has the highest combined state and local sales tax rate at 10.35 percent, followed by Tacoma, Washington at 10.3 percent. Chicago, Illinois, Long Beach, Fremont, and Oakland, California are tied for third-highest at 10.25 percent. Baton Rouge, Louisiana has the highest local sales tax rate at 5.50 percent, while St. Louis, Missouri and Colorado Springs have the second and third-highest local rates.
