The Dutch Tax Authority closed the old portal for entrepreneurs on 1 July 2024. All users of the old portal must switch to My Tax Authorities for Business, accounting software, or a tax service provider. eHerkenning is now available for companies and organizations without a Chamber of Commerce number. Previously, entrepreneurs without a Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number could not apply for eRecognition, but from 29 January 2024, they can. Additionally, eHerkenning has been available to fiscal units for VAT since 28 February 2024. The secure place on the Netherlands belastingdienst website for non-EU entrepreneurs to register VAT returns also closed on 1 July 2024. Unfortunately, tax service providers without a Chamber of Commerce number, such as foreign intermediaries, cannot currently log in on behalf of a client with chain authorization. There are various ways to arrange tax matters for clients after 1 July 2024.
