UK Updates the Process to Communicate Registration Changes

Starting from 5 August 2024, businesses in the UK must communicate any updates to their VAT registration details to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) through the VAT online account. The traditional VAT484 form and other postal or electronic methods will no longer be accepted. This shift to digital submission aims to make the process quicker, more secure, and more efficient. HMRC will provide support through non-digital channels for those who are digitally excluded or need assistance. However, for specific situations or those unable to access digital services, the option to apply for changes via post using the VAT484 form will still be available. The official guidance will be updated in August 2024 to reflect this change.
