The Supreme Administrative Court, in a seven-member panel resolution issued on Monday, voted in favor of a reduced 5% VAT rate for takeaway sales in systems such as drive-in, walk-through, in-store and food court. It emphasized that tax authorities are required to interpret the law using linguistic interpretation. Taxpayers cannot guess what the legislator possibly had in mind.
