Italy has published Law No. 67 of 23 May 2024 in the Official Gazette, which converts Decree-Law No. 39 of 29 March 2024 into law with certain amendments. One of the key measures is a further suspension of the effective date of the plastic tax and sugar tax, which has been suspended multiple times. Previously suspended until 1 July 2024 by the Budget Law for 2024, the effective date of the plastic tax is now suspended until 1 July 2026 and the effective date of the sugar tax is suspended until 1 July 2025.
