ZATCA introduced e-invoicing in KSA in 2 phases starting from December 4, 2021. E-invoicing is the electronic generation and storage of invoices using specific solutions. It is mandatory in KSA and implemented in two phases. Phase 1 requires compliant e-invoicing without reporting to the portal, while Phase 2 mandates integration with ZATCA’s system starting January 1, 2023. E-invoices contain details such as invoice date, seller/buyer information, and particulars of goods/services provided.
