Spain’s tax reporting regulations are changing with an increasing shift to e-invoicing and real-time reporting to the tax authorities. The existing legislation such as SII and Ticket BAI, as well as the new tax reporting regulations such as the Veri*factu regulation and the upcoming Crea y Crece law, are important to understand. The Veri*factu regulation, set to take effect in July 2025, outlines the technical requirements for computerized invoicing systems and mandates a standardized way of creating billing records electronically. This regulation requires every business in Spain to use an invoicing system that complies with its requirements, with the exception of businesses already using the SII system. The Veri*factu regulation specifies standardized records for every customer invoice, ensuring traceability and preventing alterations without leaving a system mark.
