Turkey has stopped all import and export transactions with Israel in protest over the war in Gaza. The trade ministry of Turkey announced that all import and export transactions related to Israel have been halted until Israel allows an uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israel’s government accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of breaking trade agreements. The trade between Turkey and Israel was worth $7 billion last year, with Turkey exporting goods worth $5.4 billion to Israel and importing $1.6 billion from Israel. In response, Israel’s foreign minister ordered the exploration of alternative trade options with other countries. This move by Turkey comes after they previously introduced restrictions on exports to Israel.
