The Pakistani Federal Board of Revenue has released version 1.3 of the technical specifications for registered taxpayers who are required to implement e-invoicing. This is part of Pakistan’s gradual introduction of mandatory e-invoicing to modernize transaction controls. Starting from 1 February 2024, tax-registered persons dealing with fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) must submit e-invoices in JSON format for every taxable supply in real time. They are required to integrate their invoicing systems with FBR through a licensed integrator, or directly with the FBR system until licensed integrators are approved. Pagero will continue to provide updates on this development.
