The government has launched an internet consultation on VAT revision for real estate services to address short stay structures. This is aimed at preventing VAT savings through short-term property rentals after major renovations, which creates an uneven playing field in the rental sector. The proposal suggests extending the adjustment scheme to services related to immovable property of at least €30,000, with a review period of five years. The internet consultation will end on 2 April 2024.
