Developing an End-to-End eInvoice Solution for Malaysia using SAP DRC Electronic Document Processing

  • SAP Standard does not provide an eInvoice solution for Malaysia, so extensibility must be used to develop new processes.
  • SAP DRC with its eDocument framework and SAP Application Framework Interface (AIF) can deliver a solution for eInvoice processing in Malaysia.
  • The technical components involved in the solution include the eDocument Framework, Application Interface Framework, Web Service Runtime, and SAP Cloud Connect.
  • The process for electronic document processing involves creating a source document, submitting the eDocument, mapping transactional data into XML format, establishing communication with tax authorities or business partners’ systems, and updating the eDocument with information from external systems.
  • To develop the process, various steps need to be followed, including creating a subclass of CL_EDOCUMENT, creating a database table to store eDocument instance information, implementing a DB handler class, configuring eDocument interfaces, and creating a web service proxy.
  • The components need to be linked together, such as linking the eDocument Process to SAP Application Interface Framework and linking the eDocument Interface to the Web Service Proxy.
  • Other steps include linking the Business Process to Document Compliance, activating FI_INVOICE, creating an implementation for the BAdI EDOC_INTERFACE_CONNECTOR, and ensuring the necessary structures and ABAP classes are in place for the eDocument Source Type.
