The implementation of two disputed taxes on plastic and sugary drinks will be delayed for the sixth time and will not take effect until mid-2024, according to the Treasury’s announcement on Monday Oct 16, 2023. However, pressure from producers convinced successive Italian governments to repeatedly postpone their enforcement.
