As announced in Spring Budget 2023, the scope of the VAT zero rate is being extended to apply to drugs and medicines supplied in accordance with Patient Group Directions (which allow healthcare professionals to supply and administer certain drugs and medicines to pre-defined groups of patients without a prescription).
