Croatia on the Way to Mandatory B2B E-invoicing in 2025

  • Electronic invoicing for B2G transactions has been compulsory in Croatia since 2019.
  • Croatia is also planning to introduce obligations for e-invoicing in B2B transactions in the near future.
  • The Croatian solution will be supported by the government’s e-Račun platform.
  • The country is preparing for this new regulation as part of the Fiscalization 2.0 project, which aims to establish a cashless payment system via eInvoice in the B2B segment with an integrated e-archive and advanced online bookkeeping in the VAT system by the end of 2024.
  • The Croatian project team has learned from the experiences of Italy and France, who are at different stages of implementing e-invoicing, providing insights on the challenges and solutions applied.
  • Croatia is considering different options for their e-invoicing solution and welcomes feedback.
