Following the publication of the draft Border Target Operating Model in April 2023, the government has now released the final version of the model.
Checks on medium-risk animal products, plants, plant products, and high-risk food and feed of non-animal origin from the EU will now be implemented on 30 April 2024 (previously 31 January 2024), and safety and security declarations for imports from the EU will apply from 31 October 2024 as originally proposed.
