The total price increase due to taxes for a liter of petrol (excise and VAT) will amount to more than 20 euro cents per liter of petrol next year if policy remains unchanged. That is the answer of State Secretary Van Rij of Finance to parliamentary questions from Pieter Omtzigt.Van Rij does note that the excise rates may still change as of 1 January 2024 as a result of the August decision-making and as a result of the discussion of the 2024 Tax Plan in the House.
