In light of an increasing number of fraudulent VAT refund claims, the State Taxation
Administration (STA) is announcing a more stringent screening of input VAT credit
refund applications.
Companies are advised to maintain an effective internal review system, especially
regarding VAT refund applications, as they could easily invite tax audits.
