On 30 June 2023, HMRC updated their public guidance page How HMRC advice and information can help you – the first update since the guidance was originally published in 2009. The page describes the various types of advice and information, including guidance, that HMRC offer to help taxpayers understand their various tax-related obligations, liabilities and entitlements, and states HMRC’s views on what happens if they provide incorrect advice or information, or if their guidance changes.
