Plastic has created numerous environmental problems, and thus – many countries have already begun implementing plastic tax rules as an attempt to discourage the production and usage of single use plastic products.
Plastic packaging tax (“PPT”), is a new type of environmental tax aimed to reduce the usage of new plastic and increase awareness on the availability of recycled plastic that can be used instead. Legislation details may vary due to countries authorized entities such a scope, tax rate and implementation timeline.
