The Tanzanian Revenue Authority (TRA) has announced that non-resident digital service providers must use the new online simplified return filing and payment portal. These taxpayers must file monthly for digital service tax (DST) starting July 2022 and for VAT starting with February 2023 returns with due dates on or before March 7. Non-compliance with the electronic filing requirements may result in penalties and interest charges. However, the TRA has waived penalties and interest for late filing of these specific returns.
