The Vietnamese government is proposing revisions to the Law on Special Consumption Tax (Luật thuế tiêu thụ đặc biệt or TTĐB) to expand the tax base, restrict the import, production, and consumption of harmful products, and encourage investment in green technology. The draft proposes four policies, including adding taxable objects, adjusting excise tax rates for environmentally harmful products, and amending regulations to ensure transparency and consistency with other relevant laws.
