Comptroller Peter Franchot of the U.S. state of Maryland has issued a statement following the recent ruling by a state circuit court judge that the state’s digital advertising tax is unconstitutional. In the statement, Mr. Franchot states that instead of continuing to expend public resources to defend the digital advertising tax law, it should instead be revisited by the legislature.
