Since the Abraham accords signified a normalisation of relations between amongst others the UAE and Israel, a Double Tax Treaty was signed to enhance trade between the countries. This Treaty is in effect since 1 January 2022.
Press reports now suggest the UAE and Israel have also signed a trade deal, abolishing duties for approximately 95% of all line items. Further details of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement are not yet known, but its contents is understood to be ambitious.
The UAE is currently working on a similar arrangement with Colombia.
