In order to dampen the consequences of rising energy costs, the government proposes to increase the allowance for people who are most in trouble, to lower the VAT rate on energy, to lower the excise duty on petrol and diesel and to accelerate the introduction of the tax focus on energy-saving measures for vulnerable households. That is what the cabinet writes to the House of Representatives.
