Portugal is continuing its process of digitizing its economy by promoting the use of electronic invoices in the context of business-to-business (B2B) transactions. Although its use is not compulsory, the rules regulating its use will soon be modified. Indeed, from next October, electronic invoices must be signed electronically .
According to Directive 2014/55 / EU , since April 2019, all European public administrations must be able to receive electronic invoices. In other words, European regulations impose the use of electronic invoices within the framework of B2G ( business to government ) relationships.
