Paraguay has published Decree No. 5278 of 13 May 2021, which provides for the extension of the special VAT regime introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for tourism and restaurant services and subsequently extended to accommodation services. The regime generally provides that for the supply of these services, the standard VAT rate of 10% is applied on 50% of the service price. Previously provided until 30 June 2021, the special VAT regime is now provided until 31 October 2021.
