New Zealand wants foreign companies to levy GST on their online sales to New Zealanders as of 1 December 2019 – which would put the tax change slap in the middle of the holiday shopping season for many. Originally, this was planned for 1 October 2019 already. Tax experts think that even the 1 December 2019 date is too early for many online sales platforms.
