Last week the Romanian government approved the proposal for introducing a VAT split-payment mechanism, in the form published on 18 August 2017 (see Romania-1416, News 21 August 2017). The VAT split payment mechanism will become mandatory on 1 January 2018, but taxpayers may already elect to participate on 1 October 2017 in exchange for certain tax benefits. (Full post here)
