Japan postpone Consumption Tax increase

Japan has delayed its plans to increase its Consumption Tax from 8% to 10% which was due to take place this year (see our previous post here). This is the second time that the Government has delayed this increase, with it originally being scheduled for October 2015 before being moved to April 2017, it is now expected to be implemented in late 2019. The main reason they keep delaying this increase is due to the worries that it will destabilize their economic growth, as the increase from 5% to 8% in 2014 sent the country into a brief recession.   Laura was one of the original employees at Innovate Tax and has developed an excellent knowledge of indirect tax in Oracle. A great problem solver makes her an asset to any project, whether implementing or supporting and has hugely contributed to the multiple awards we have won.
